As a Lucanian born in Turin, when I come to Avigliano I am looking for cod and bran peppers. I took the cod and pepperoni pizza, perfect for both the sauce and the pasta. Courtesy and punctuality reinforce the positive opinion.

The "La calcara" restaurant is located on the outskirts of the industrial area of Pietragalla. It has a rather large, well-kept room, with an exposed oven, and has sufficient parking. The cured meats in the appetizer are really good, the pizza is of excellent quality and the ingredients are of good quality. Even the homemade desserts were delicious.

Before the restaurant it is necessary to talk about the hospitality, typical of the south.The place is sober and hospitable.We let the owner recommend fish dishes not on the menu and we were satisfied: the quality of the food was excellent and the preparation was no less so.No surprises at the checkout considering the fish menu.We will definitely be back.

A little out of the way from the center of Pietragalla but close to the Potenza Melfi road.The place is recently built, clean (including the services) and well furnished.The gastronomic offerings are varied and interesting.We limited ourselves to the appetizers and first courses, and then closed with dessert.All well made and well presented.The bread they produce themselves is also delicious.In total for various appetizers, first courses, dessert, wine and bitters the cost was 30 per person.Attentive and precise service.

We were welcomed with warmth and kindness. Dishes with typical local products and house wine. The place was clean and tidy, as were the bathrooms!The prices are not exactly cheap but it is compensated by everything else.

Very nice place, large, clean and well-kept. La Calcara starter highly recommended. Really good pizza. Prices commensurate with the quality of the food. Welcoming and very friendly staff. Definitely coming back for lunch.
